Ugly Christmas Sweater Cake

Hello Blog world! Long time no post.
I had to dust off the blog today and post these fun cakes we made tonight to save these memories forever!

Sophia and I made these Ugly Christmas Sweater Cakes we saw on Pinterest and it was a blast!

Sorry about the "so so" photos, we were more focused on the project than getting the "perfect blog photo" which is just fine with me these days!!

 This was my cake:

And this was Sophia's cake:

You can tell which one of us is more OCD. Ha!

HIGHLY suggest this project - it was easy, fun and full of great memories!

Escape to Paris Tea Party

Last year for the St Andrew Catholic School Gala I donated a themed tea party and some of my very best friends bid and won it!

How LUCKY was I to not only donate to a great cause but also host some of the most kindest, lovely women I could ever know.

The theme was.....Escape to Paris!!!

Here are some pictures, I hope you enjoy.

I just wanted to post this so that I always can look back and remember what a fun and amazing time this was.

A memory I really, really treasure.

Themed sugar cookies were a buttery, soft dream....

Thank you to my DEAR FRIEND KIM for this beautiful dessert stand!!! LOVE!

Although the first two courses were delicious, the dessert tray stole the hearts of all...swoon! Every tea party in Paris needs macaroons!

A delicious and decadent salted caramel tea was served.

Champagne anyone??

I had a few takers on that! Love these ladies!

I hope you enjoyed your Escape to Paris!

Here is a little party gift from the hostess!! I gave each guest a beautiful tea cup with homemade cream cheese mints! Smooch!

Snowman Nose Cookies in a Jar

Snowman Noses
Cookies in a Jar!!

We were inspired Disney's Olaf and the
scene where he loses his NOSE:

And going back through my past
posts one of the most popular of ALL time
were my GRINCH PILLS in a jar!

LINK TO POST CLICK HERE

So we merged the idea!

In an effort to keep things
fast & easy, I used store bought
mini round sugar cookies and I
cut them with a sharp knife into
little triangle shapes.

These cookies would work great!

We then used Betty Crocker cookie icing
in white and colored some orange.

It worked great!
~EASY ~

Using a Wilton tip #2, we piped
out the noses and covered them
with some orange sugar to add sparkle!

We decided to add a cute
Snowman cookie face
at the top of jar!

The cookie face was made with the
same Betty Crocker Icing in White.
The nose was made from the orange icing
left over from making all the little noses.
Once dry, we added the eyes and mouth with an Americolor Edible food writer in black.

You could easily add a orange tic tac for the nose
and food coloring applied with a toothpick.

The link to the printable we
used can be found by clicking

Hope you like this fun idea!

Hostess Ho Ho Reindeer - EASY! NO BAKE!

Hostess Ho Ho Reindeer Treats!

Here is what we used:
Hostess Ho Ho's
Reindeer Cupcake Decorating Kit from Wilton
Small Sugar Google Eyes from Wilton
Red Sixlet's for Nose
Our Imagination!

We did use a bit of Edible Gold Glitter
spray on the girl's antlers for added
SPARKLE!

If you can't find the Wilton Kit, you can use the
following items for your reindeer face:
*Pretzels for Antlers
*Mini marshmallows cut in half for eyes
*Food coloring can be applied to mini marshmallow with
toothpick to get eye color in center of marshmallow
*Red M&M for nose

These are really so easy and fun. We whipped
up a whole box of these and the clean up was
a BREEZE! I love NO BAKE items for those
busy working days when we want to make
a fun treat but time is limited.
Anyone can do this, and if you make these
we would LOVE to hear from you!

Brain Sprinkles ~ Cookies in a Jar + Printable Tag

Who doesn't need an extra dose
of SMART every now and then, huh?

Especially when your going BACK TO SCHOOL!!

Brain Sprinkles ~ Cookies in a Jar!

With my sweet girl, Sophia Rose,
going back to school next week and
now entering into the THIRD GRADE (gasp!)
I had a feeling she would require
a little brain power as she transitions
from summer's lazy pace, to school's crazy race!

How about your kiddo?

I saw an idea for brain sprinkles made of
glitter on pinterest HERE and immediately
knew I could make it into a fun edible craft!

These were super easy. I actually took premade
snickerdoodle cookies from our local bakery and used
a wilton 1M tip to cut out the little round circles -- or you can
use a little round cookie cutter and your own cut-out
recipe if you like! I am all for FAST and FANCY!

I used the Wilton Cookie Icing in white and fun
rainbow jimmies to decorate the cookies.

I am going to give them out to the
neighbor kids too. YUM!

Here is the Tag in JPEG for you to cut and
paste if you like!! So easy, fun and cute!
I also have a word document for this
if you prefer, just email me.

On another note, I just had to mention that
this past weekend marked a 10 year
landmark for me with my brain tumor. 10 years
ago last week I entered into a research study at the Mayo
clinic to track patients with brain tumors. At that time
my 10 year survival was estimated to be 20%. Yikes.

Hmmmm. Guess I beat the odds.

To celebrate, I ate some of these
brain sprinkles and prayed for another 10 years.

Life is short, add the sprinkles.

Patriotic Pie Crust Stars!

Patriotic Pie Crust Stars!

Looking for something easy to whip up
for your Memorial Day BBQ??

So was I!

I loved all the great ideas, but truth be known, I
am just not feeling that adventurous lately.

These were ULTRA easy!

All you need is premade refrigerated pie crust,
milk, colored sugar and your oven!!

Oh, ya...and some willing people to eat them up!

I cut out the pie crust with a star cookie cutter.
Then I brushed them with milk and sprinkled
the sugar on them as you see.  Next, I baked them
in my oven at 375 for about 8-9 minutes.

VIOLA!
