Bug-Eyed Monster Cupcakes

Bug-Eyed Monster Cupcakes

I whipped these cute guys up
last weekend for a cake walk at our
church's Fall Festival.

I was inspired by these cute little
googly-eyed monster cupcakes
from The Decorated Cookie, that you can see HERE!

Last year I made this Martian/Monster Cake

and it was such a hit that I had to continue the
theme this year, only cupcake style.

And let me just brag a teeny tiny bit....

They were the first to disappear!

Luckily, I saved a few to have
at home, because they were oh so good
and so much fun to eat.

To make all you have to do is frost your
cupcake any way you prefer - I just used a 1M
tip a couple of different ways.  Next, take your
marshmallows and draw on the eyes with your
edible food writer and once a toothpick has been
placed in side just pop into your cupcake!

I used a variety of small and large marshies
to give them all a different personality.

Cute.

Sweet SugarBelle's 20+ Ways to Use a Pumpkin Cutter

Sweet SugarBelle's
20+ Ways to Use a Pumpkin Cutter
BIG thanks to Callye, from Sweet SugarBelle for asking me
to contribute to this amazing collection of ideas on how to
use your fall PUMPKIN COOKIE CUTTERS!!

Check out this AMAZING COLLECTION!

WOW!!!

To be included amongst these incredible bloggers is beyond AMAZING for me and I am so very excited!!!
I used a MINI pumpkin cutter for this sweet
Peek-A-Boo Pumpkin Cupcake Topper.

I started with white fondant and colored it orange.
After rolling it out, I cut the shape with the mini
pumpkin cutter that came in the basic mini cutter
Halloween pack from Wilton.

After the pumpkin was cut, I then used a toothpick
to make some ridges in the fondant as you see in the photo.

I am sure many people don't have a mini baby face cutter
as I used here, but a great alternative is to use the round
end of a piping tip for a small baby face, that works GREAT!

After cutting out the pumpkin, I used a fondant roller
cutter (or you can use a pizza cutter) to cut the pumpkin as you
see in the picture.  I drew the face with a black Americolor
Edible Food Writer (my favorite) and used some pink petal dust to give the cheeks a rosy hue. After placing on the cupcake as you see, I piped a green stem and some leaves which give it a nice
added touch in my opinion! PEEK-A-BOO

What a sweet lil' pumpkin!

THANKS AGAIN CALLYE!

Karate Kid Cupcakes

I needed a kick in the pants.....

DOH!

So I dug out these old karate kid cupcakes
I made over a year ago.  They make me smile!
HIIIIIII YAAA!

After watching the karate kid when I was in like 5th or 6th grade, I remember so desperately wanting to be the karate kid myself...to go from underdog to WINNER at the final round.
I love that movie.

Have a great week, now go kick some butt!

Why I Work ~ A Sweet Reminder

I have the privileged of a lifetime.

To take care of human lives.

To hold the hands of those in need.

What a GIFT!!

Last week, this lovely plant was waiting
for me at work when I got there early one morning.

It was from the family of a dear patient of mine
who, after a long hard battle with pulmonary fibrosis,
won his angel wings.

The card..

    "Trish,

Want to thank you for all the TLC you have given to R and our family. Without you we could not have made it through this time.  You gave him hope and reason to try anything that may have helped him.  He would not do anything unless he knew you were aware of it.  NO matter who wanted to change anything for him he would say "Does Trish know this" or "Let Trish know."  He adored you and for that we were so grateful.  Thank you so much for giving him your loving care. He hung onto every word you said and we feel in our hearts that you were chosen to be his doctor for a reason.
We miss him terribly but know he is in a better place
and can breathe freely.

Thank you so much. Godspeed.
The RB Family"

I choose to work for many reasons....

For how it makes my husband smile with pride when
I talk about my special patients.

For how it makes my daughter tell me she wants to
be someone "like you Mama, who takes care of
the sick people who can't breathe."

For Me.

And although there are days that are very difficult...
the days that I just feel like I can't do it all...
I know that I am right where I am supposed to be.

I am lucky, I don't have to search hard for meaning
or perspective that emphasizes the fragile nature of our being.

The fact is that no matter how you look at it
we all WORK HARD. Whether you work
in or outside of your home. Whether you have kids
or not, life is hard work....and THAT is why we need
to reach out and hold the hand of those in need.

Because then, LIFE, doesn't seem so hard after all.

Dedicated to RB and his family.
It was an honor to care for this man.

It's Going to BEE a GREAT Year! Bee Pancakes for the First Day of School!!

I can't say that I am all that "excited" to have
Sophia go to back to school.
This summer has been a lot of fun!!

I made this surprise breakfast for Sophia

I can't wait for her to see it this morning!

I sprinkled the table with a TON of glitter,
because EVERYTHING seems better with glitter, right!

I put up this sign....

It seems like it is getting harder
