Escape to Paris Tea Party

Last year for the St Andrew Catholic School Gala I donated a themed tea party and some of my very best friends bid and won it!

How LUCKY was I to not only donate to a great cause but also host some of the most kindest, lovely women I could ever know.

The theme was.....Escape to Paris!!!

Here are some pictures, I hope you enjoy.

I just wanted to post this so that I always can look back and remember what a fun and amazing time this was.

A memory I really, really treasure.

Themed sugar cookies were a buttery, soft dream....

Thank you to my DEAR FRIEND KIM for this beautiful dessert stand!!! LOVE!

Although the first two courses were delicious, the dessert tray stole the hearts of all...swoon! Every tea party in Paris needs macaroons!

A delicious and decadent salted caramel tea was served.

Champagne anyone??

I had a few takers on that! Love these ladies!

I hope you enjoyed your Escape to Paris!

Here is a little party gift from the hostess!! I gave each guest a beautiful tea cup with homemade cream cheese mints! Smooch!

Black Forest Ham Quiche - Tea Party Favorite

Welcome to Tea Time Tuesday!

This week I would like to share an all time Tea Party favorite, a super yummy QUICHE!

This Black Forest Ham Quiche is so rich and creamy. I found the recipe one day searching online & could hardly resist when the title read, "Our Famous Black Forest Ham Quiche".

The recipe is adapted from An Afternoon to Remember Fine Tea and Gifts Website. Click on the link for the recipe!

I made this the last time my SWEET mother was in town and it turned out wonderful. Very dense and the flavors just burst out in your mouth!  The addition of a bit of rosemary was wonderful.

I love to pair a heavy quiche like this with a light salad or fresh fruit.

A great tea choice for this decadent quiche would be one of my all time favorites, Harney & Sons Paris blend....so divine.

Hope you enjoy this recipe and make sure you stop and make time for tea this week!

Tetley & Good Earth Tea Review with White Chocolate Lime Scones

Welcome to Tea Time Tuesday this week!

This week we are mixing up some fruit and pairing some Pomegranate with Lime!

Sophia and I have been looking to sample some new iced teas for summer so we were excited when Tetley USA sent us some of their traditional Iced Tea Blend and a box of the Good Earth Pomegranate Burst to sample. Yeah!!

We decided to pair these delicious tea blends with a new scone recipe!

White Chocolate with Lime Scones

First off, the GOOD EARTH Pomegranate Burst tea was really amazing. It truly has the essence of natural pomegranate flavors with a hint of cherry. A bright and cheerful burst for your taste senses!

This tea was sampled both iced and hot. It paired wonderful with our scones! We loved it both ways, but on this warm spring day, we preferred it iced.

When I was opening the tea bags, the scent of cherry and fruit just filled the room!!

I had to take some sips!!!!! YUM!!

Other fruity flavors that can be found in this refreshing tea include sweet blackberry and raspberry ~~~Ooh La La!!!

Next up we sampled Tetley's Iced Tea Blend.

Honestly, I had never tried this brand and I am so glad I did. Tetley has a special blend specifically for iced tea and I must say it was very smooth and not at all bitter. I'm hooked.

From Tetley USA:

Round, stringless tea bags are made with our unique Perflo tissue - sturdy, yet soft and porous, for faster tea infusion and better flavor release. 2 tea bags makes 2 quarts of iced tea.

Refreshing!

So pretty!!

Now for some Nosh!!

White Chocolate Lime Scones

1 3/4 cups flour + 2 Tbsp
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar
6 Tbsp butter
3/4 cup white chocolate chips
7 Tbsp milk
3 tsp lime
1 tsp lime zest

Preheat to 400 degrees and line baking sheet with parchment.

Mix the 1 and 3/4 cup flour (saving the 2 Tbsp for rolling the scones) with the sugar, baking soda and salt.

Add white chocolate chips and then cut in the butter.

Once crumbly, add milk, lime and zest. Stir till dough forms.

Next, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and cut or shape into small discs (I use my 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter).

Brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar if you like prior to baking.

Bake at 400 for 9-12 minutes, checking your scones as oven times can vary. Mine runs hot so these only took 9 minutes.

Voila! Yum

Enjoy!!!

*This is a sponsored post. Tetley USA sent me both their Iced Tea Blend and the Good Earth Pomegranate Burst (thank you!). Opinions here are honest and mine (and Sophia's) alone, thanks!! :)

Simplici-TEA!!

The simplest of things are often the best of things.

We have had a lot of great adventures lately.

Life has been busy but very entertaining!
Today we had a chance to sit and relax.

I surprised Sophia with a quick little
"tea party" while we watched a movie and
snuggled on the couch this afternoon.

Simple Act.

Big Impact.

And that is what the good times are all about.

Have a joyful week.

I just LOVE the handle on my new cup!!!

It has been a long time since I have

 always offers the most favorable,
decadent tasting tea varieties around!
And, they are all 100% organic - how wonderful!!

The tea I chose to sample was a white tea called
Coconut Creme'.  The aroma and flavor was quite lovely.
Just PERFECT for fall.

My husband asked what I was baking when I steeped this
amazing tea as the aromatic scent filled our house.

If you leave a comment you will be entered to win
a tea of your own choosing, just visit their site by clicking HERE, and let me know what flavor you would enjoy to try!

The Persimmon Tree Tea Company was nice enough
to send this sample to me for no cost, but I am sponsoring
the giveaway because I just was very impressed with their tea.

I paired this yummy tea with a
Honey Nut Endive Savory that
was just out of this world tasty!!

Savory Honey Nut on Endive

It is a wonderful mix of pine nuts, bacon,

especially for tea time.  I recently made this delicious chilled
blueberry soup and found it to be so yummy!!

Chilled Blueberry Soup

Makes ~ 3 cups

2 cups fresh blueberries
1 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup half and half
3/4 cup sour cream

In medium saucepan, combine blueberries, wine and sugar.
Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes.

In food processor or blender, process blueberry mixture until smooth, stopping to scrape sides.

Return mixture to saucepan.

Add half-and-half and sour cream, stirring until combined.

Cover and refrigerate for 4-6 hours.

Easter Bunny Cream Puffs ~ Tea Party Tuesday

HAPPY EASTER
TEA PARTY TUESDAY!

Easter Bunny Cream Puffs

I invited some Cream Puff Bunnies
over for Tea Party Tuesday.

You can see how I made them HERE!

I used Pepperidge Farms Puff Pastry Shells
instead of making my own cream puffs
and it worked great!

Someone I know was excited to try them, so
a quick counter top Tea Party was had.

Easter is my FAVORITE holiday.
I love the colors and fresh start.

This week I am drinking a tea from
the Mad Hatter Tea Room, called Summer Breeze.

Just delightful and floral.
Wishing you a wonderful Easter!

I am excited to join Sandi's special Easter Tea this week.

Memories of Tea Time

I have quite a few fabulous recipes and photos to share
for Tea Party Tuesday waiting in the
archives of my computer.

But this week, that is where they are going to stay.

I have just been a little more sentimental than
my normal "cry at the Hallmark commercial"
sentimental these days. When editing some photos
for a tea time dessert, I found myself going thru and
looking at all the tea time photos of Sophia Rose.

I forgot how often we had "tea" when she was
real little. Those memories flooded me with emotion.

I collected some of my favorites for today. There were hundreds!

Here is a trip down memory lane for Tea Party Tuesday.

I guess this post is more for me that you so I hope you don't mind!

It all started here...

At one week old I was so scared to leave the house with
her!! My mom came up for a visit from Nebraska and forced
me out of the house. The only place I would take her was
the Mad Hatter Tea Room. It was a place of peace for me then
and continues to be a place of joy now.

The very first place I changed her diaper outside of the
house was in the bathroom at the Mad Hatter!

How about a Tea Party with Big Bird?

Big Bird was messy so he needed a bib
with his teacup and sweets!

A Diva in Tea Training.

I was always ready for a game of
pretty dress up and would stop anything
I was doing for an impromptu Tea Party.
The girl in back was a sweet neighbor girl, Libby.
She LOVED to come over for tea with Sophia and I.

Look at the little Birthday Princess here!
The following are pictures of the party we had when she was 4.

Her Dad and I served these lovely girls.
"Tea", Pink Butterfly Bologna Sandwiches, Fruit and Carrots

Here was the Teapot Cake I made.

Man oh man oh man have I come a long way...
I laughed SO HARD at
the construction paper spout and handle. I was so afraid of
fondant back then.  In all honesty, I was so proud!

Here is my sweet husband James all decked
out in his tuxedo, serving his princess!

She has a few things to smile about!

Tea with our Nana Jan is some of the
best memories ever.

My lovely likes cream with her tea!

Tea time does not have to be fancy all of the time.
Nutella on toast with a fancy powdered sugar stencil and
watermelon in a pretty cup with your favorite tea can really
be just what you need to start the day!

There is NO reason you can't take your
Tea Party outside with a fun story cubes game!

GORGEOUS!

Look Mom..I set up a tea table for YOU!

One of our MANY visits to the Mad Hatter.
I had SOOOOO many photos of us there!

Quiche is another favorite
at our house.

More tea time memories with Nana!!

This past summer I took these photos. We
are having "Tea under a Tree" in our front yard.

 I collect things.....

I collect tea cups
I collect tea pots
I collect recipes for tea parties
I collect ideas for fun desserts

But my real motivation for all of this is to
collect the one thing that is most precious to me.

Memories.
