Tea Party Tuesday - Miracle Makeover and Cabin Cookies

I had a totally different post
elegantly prepared for Tea Party Tuesday
this week but as I started to edit the pictures,
I realized I just wasn't feeling it...

I am feeling pretty lucky.
I am feeling pretty humbled by the
blogging community this week.

From the outpouring of "A Peanut Butter Pie for Mikey"
posts all over blogland in honor of fellow
food blogger Jennifer Perillo's husband who passed
suddenly from a heart attack.....

...to all the amazing posts about the
Miracle Makeover
for Charlie, sponsored by
Design Gives Back and these blogs...

Pink Saturday @ at How Sweet the Sound/ Beverly
Spiritual Sunday @ Spiritual Sunday /Charlotte & Ginger
Country Wings in Phoenix @ Country Wings in Phoenix/Sherry
Metamorphosis Monday @ Between Naps on The Porch/Susan

Kelee Katillac has done it again, bringing
her special skills in design to bring
joy to others.

I was overwhelmed with gratitude and respect
for those who go above and beyond to help others.

The story of Charlie, a young brain tumor patient, certainly
struck a cord with me on a personal level.

As many of you know, I LIVE with a brain tumor.

It is breathtaking here.
I made these cookies on Father's Day for
my wonderful husband, James, who just loves
to be up north, on a boat, relaxing amongst
the serenity of the water.

I thought I would share them for tea today.

Trisha - I am humbled to hear of your affinity to the Miracle Makeover fundraiser because of your own tumor - that you live with! A testimony to the strength and faithfulness of the Lord in your life to be about the business of sharing "sweetness" and light in all things at Sweetology.

I participated in the blogfest this weekend - http://thewritersreverie.blogspot.com/2011/08/making-of-miracles.html - my son's story - and ultimately my grandbaby's story. She turns a thriving one this month!

I haven't had a chance to visit too many blogs but hope to do so by the 18th. Just back from seeing my son and his family and am playing catch-up. I have to go back to work in less than a week! Egad! School routines begin again. Tea breaks on Tuesdays will be welcome!!

Joy!

My sweet friend your post day touches home on both accounts. As someone who lives with an acquired brain injury my heart goes out to others who face any illness to the brain; especially children .. I'm catching up after our Vermont trip and will be visiting the sites you mentioned above. Hubby lost his first wife to a tragic single car accident ~ I don't know what its like to lose a spouse , but see the emotional affects that he faces to this day. Thank you for sharing your story and for bringing awareness to the prayer needs of others.

Your cookies are beyond creative!! You come up with the best ones! .... enjoy your time with family ... many blessings, xo HHL

That is a charming cup! I love it. Please come and visit my site if you have time. I am barely into this addiction!
I was very touched by your words and invitation to join the spots which will collect donations. My husband has Stage Four Pancreatic Cancer and we are off to Montreal today for our anniversary. A bit of a poignant one, as he is having some more lesions. I thank you for sharing this in your blog and will remember you in my prayers for your own brain tumor.
Northern Minnesota is wonderful. I am from St. Paul and get there about four times a year...friends who have cabins...a wonderful thing!!!
Fondly,
Suz

P.S. Love your generous and giving spirit.

Always follow your heart : )

Your cookies are happy cookies! I am glad you are away enjoying family and the great outdoors.
The tea cup is one of my favorites. I have a painting with a cottage like that in it and it (and your cup) remind me so much of England.

Hugs,
Terri
