Halloween Date Night In

Each week, hubby and I try to carve out
time away from electronics and interruptions
to catch up on life, just be together and have fun!

"Dating" your spouse is key to
a good marriage.

Last night I came up with a fun
Halloween themed "Date Night In"

All you need is the following:

Beverage of Choice (ours was wine :)

Haunted Gingerbread House Kit
(found mine at Target)

 Snacks
If you have time, maybe bake or stop
and get your sweetie their favorite treat.
My sweetie loves mint so I made him
MINT BROWNIES.

I decorated the bottle of wine
and wrapped it up like a mummy somewhat like this:

Photo Credit Here - I was too busy having fun on my "date" to take photos!

Then we put together the House.....

Hilarious.

It doesn't take much effort and you
can surprise your sweetie with some fun!

I highly recommend it!!

FYI:
I just LOVE the website
The Dating Divas....it is full of awesome
date ideas that are sure to inspire. Check it out!

Pumpkin Poop!! Easy Halloween Treat + Printables

PUMPKIN POOP!!

Here is the EASIEST and QUICKEST
Halloween "appetizer" that everyone will love!

I mean...who doesn't LOVE cheeseballs??!!

Silence.  Thought so.

The poem is not my creation but the printable sure is, so if you
want a copy of the file email me (better to print in my opinion) or right click on the image below and copy/paste into word.
Sophia will be handing out these little Pumpkin Poop
goodie bags at school this week. HILARIOUS!!
I have a generic bag topper for use as well, so let me know!
I tried to find the original person who created this clever poem but was unable to pin it down, so if anyone has the credit - let me know!!!!!

Heaven through the eyes of an 8yr old girl......

Last night we had a fun family
movie night which involved snuggles on the couch.

As we started to clean up dinner, my daughter
noticed the sunset out of our patio window.

She ran over and got her ipad to take
a photo....she was so inspired.

I asked her to send me the photo and this is
what she sent me (her dad and others).............

Glorious Heaven.

We are definitely doing
  something right.......

Heaven is Glorious indeed, Sophia.
It is a place of NEW, not ENDS.
A place of Wonder, Magic and New LIFE!

And YOU are my HEAVEN on EARTH.

(I think that iPad just paid for itself!!)

Pinterest Inspired Halloween Crafts & Sweets ~ Memories with my daughter!

I love Pinterest...I really do.
I get so inspired.

I took a couple of days off of work
this week as it is fall break for my daughter.
We invited a couple of friends over and
had a Halloween Craft Extravaganza!!

Here are some of the fun things we did, most
of the inspiration came from my Halloween Pinterest Board.
Some projects actually DO work out!!

Halloween Footprint Flying Witch!!
Inspiration can be found Here at Sweet and Lovely Crafts!

FLAMIN BROOM!!

One of Sophias' friends added some FLAMES to
her witch broom.....OH YA!

We also decorated our drinking cups.
I had a bunch of googley eyes to put all
over the cup, but they wanted to make happy faces!
I guess that says a lot...they are happy girls!

I got the straws at the Dollar Tree.

Then we made these CUTE skeleton Graham Crackers
So easy for little hands!
Inspiration from Party Pinching!

This was MY idea....we decorated white
pillow cases with fabric makers to use
as Trick or Treat Halloween bags!  This was a HIT!

Next we put together these cute guys!!
The girls just LOVED doing this.  It was
quick and easy and they just giggled like crazy.
I know the packaging here is LAME but I ran out
of orange ribbon so I just used what I had on hand to
send it home with them. Who cares! We had FUN!

Inspiration from HERE!!!

And LAST but not LEAST, I took the
girls to see Hotel Transylvania.  It rocked.

FUN!

What a great day off of WORK and SCHOOL.

BRAINS IN A JAR - HALLOWEEN DINNER IDEA!

BRAINS IN A JAR FOR DINNER!!

Ok, well not exactly.....
More like meatloaf, potatoes and cornbread in jar!

Remember those awesome
desserts by Kristin @
she made for Amy @ Living Locurto last year??

If not you HAVE to check it out HERE!

I was inspired to tweak the idea and
make a fun Halloween Dinner for my family!

So I baked up some cornbread (Jiffy box)
Whipped up some meatloaf
And made some mashed taters out of the box!
(Note, I did use a drop of "copper/flesh" americolor
food coloring to the potatoes but not totally necessary)

Now onto the easy assembly!

Shove some cornbread in bottom of mason jar.
Next cut out some meatloaf and place on top of bread.
Then pipe your taters on as the 'brains"

So what you will need:
Mashed Taters
Cornbread
Meatloaf
Piping bag with tip or use ziploc bag w/ corner cut
Mason Jar
Copper/Flesh colored food coloring or Pink with a touch of Black

Serve with RED BLOOD JUICE!

FUN!!

No Bake Skeleton Puzzle Cookies + Halloween Treat Bag Topper!!

NO BAKE
SKELETON PUZZLE COOKIE + TREAT BAG TOPPER!

I just loved the skeleton cookies I saw
made by one of my favorite gals, Sue
at Munchkin Munchies but time is tight so
I came up with a fun No BAKE way
to make this happen for my little "ghoul"!!!

This is what you need:

*Nabisco 100 calorie Oreo Thins
*Marshmallows
*Black Edible Food Writer
*Frosting (either royal icing or buttercream)
*A way to pipe the frosting either by
placing in a ziploc bag and cutting the tip
or using a piping bag and a size 1 or 2 piping tip.
Either way will work just great!

Pipe your white frosting on the cookies
as you see here, or any way you want!

Now have your super cute ghoul
arrange the bones in order!!

HOW HUMERUS!  (ok, sorry that was lame....)

I think it would be so fun to put these into a
treat bag with this cute Treat Bag Topper I made
from PicMonkey.  This was my FIRST try at making treat bag toppers myself and it was fun.

The only way I could have done it was with a
great tutorial from  The Barefoot Baker HERE!
Stop by and check it out!

You can copy and paste from BELOW into word and print
or email me for the file, I think it prints/looks better
with the original file, honestly.

No Bones about it...Happy Halloween!
